While the outlook of people and the predominant corporate culture plays a notable role in sidetracking women’s path towards accomplishing their profession objectives, there are other angles too that make it way troublesome for them to achieve the best.

But a lady will have to overcome all of them and be the boss lady she wants to be. Woman do have big dreams in their eyes. A dream to be a successful, independent and strong woman. For that she works hard and fights for all she believed in. After a few years, she gets dubbed as the queen of private equity for managing funds of around Rs 9,200 crore while heading ICICI India. But she quit her job at the peak of her career to start her own venture. She worked hard again. Now, her start-up is backed by top Indian and global investors. She is none other than Renuka Ramnath, CEO of Multiples Alternate Asset Management. And she is what they say a boss lady’.

Do you know who precisely is a boss lady? Do you know what it takes to be an incredible and confident boss lady? Boss lady is someone who knows precisely what she wants from life and simply just don’t want to settle for anything less than that.

In spite of the fact that the journey to be the boss lady won’t be all hunky-dory and fun. But, as the saying goes, “You’ve got everything it takes but it will take everything you’ve got.”

All things considered, sit down, make yourself a firm beverage and let’s get directly into it. We’re going to reveal to you the top 4 things all future #BossLady should know to make their dreams of success a reality.

1.Keep learning, be a learner for life!

Learning new things every day never goes out of fashion. You may have all the possible knowledge on this planet however in some cases even the wisest needs to do some learning. Consistently things are changing — new techniques, technologies, business patterns are a couple to name. Ask any successful individual for a counsel, the vast majority of them will request that you learn no less than one thing every day. Modesty and the willingness to learn are the two requirements for getting to be fruitful. Have you ever heard of professional hubris?

2. Believe in the talents and abilities you have!

If you’re an over-achiever, you’re bound to suffer from Impostor’s Syndrome, that bothering feeling that regardless of how cultivated and good you are at your job, it’s just by fluke that you’ve figured out how to get this far. Like most high-achievers, you set the bar quite high for yourself. Your standard of “good enough” is far (faaaar) higher than any normal person, thus, you will be tormented by the feeling that your work is never sufficient. If you want to be the game changer, you’ll have to free yourself of these sentiments of deficiency and simply trust your ability. ‘You can’t connect the dots looking forward, you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future.’

3. Be in charge of your emotions!

“You need to learn how to select your thoughts just the same way you select your clothes every day,” wrote Elizabeth Gilbert in Eat Pray Love, “This is a power you can cultivate.” Be resilient, level-headed and confident. Take a chapter from Kelly Cutrone and go outside if you need to cry at work. It would without a doubt sounds harsh, but all she meant in these lines was, that you are not your feelings.

There is a huge contrast between thinking “I feel angry” and “I am angry.” In one you recognize a feeling, and in the other you relate WITH the feeling. This is definitely not a major ordeal… until shit hits the fan at work and you end up falling apart emotionally. Feelings and sentiments are simply impulses that happen to your body.

By not relating to your feelings, you will certainly remain cool and rational even in the most unpleasant work circumstances. When you lose a major project and get a genuine scolding from your manager. The best thing you can do is to own up the mistake, learn the lesson and move on.

“She stood in the storm and when the wind did not blow her way, she adjusted her sails”.

4. Don’t chase perfection, be the perfection you are looking for.

Boss ladies in general have this dash of perfectionism engrained in their psyches. Their meaning of ‘good enough’ is ‘second to none’ of normal individuals. When they can’t match up to their own desires, they feel disillusioned, baffled and upset.

Whenever you are stuck with the perfection syndrome, remember the words of Kim Collins, “Strive for continuous improvement, instead of perfection.” If you wait for the perfect things, you’ll end up waiting forever. “Perfection isn’t what matters. In fact, it’s the very thing that can destroy you if you let it.”

Be the glorious mess!
