Green peas possess very low calories. A 100 gm of green peas accommodates only 80 calories. Diabetics are strictly advised to follow the diet with Low-calorie food as weight management is the most relevant concern for Type 2 Diabetes. In addition, green peas also help diabetics to control their sugar levels.

2. Affluent in Potassium

Other factor which is importance to create a healthy diet for diabetics is ‘Potassium’. Potassium helps the human body to have blood levels in check. 4. Rich in Fibre

Fibre is another important concern for a diabetic. This nutrient regulates blood sugar levels and blood pressure. Foods with high fibre get digested in the body gradually, release sugar and end up averting any increase in diabetes levels. A 100 gm portion of green peas has 14 gm of carbohydrates which encompasses 5 gm of fibre.
