This time of the month brings unpredictable temperatures, constant snowing, and an instant unsaid need to pack light yet keep up with trendy locals, a girl is left with few options besides drinking one’s weight in mulled wine.
For most of us, predicting what we might need in our travel bag is impossible. With coffee breaks to sightseeing and beyond, the travel day can take us in many different directions. Since life is something that just cannot be predicted, there are a few things that we think will help prepare you for all surprises that come up in your way of travel.
We’ve gathered a few winter travel bag essentials that are helpful to have in your handbag. Keep reading to find out what you should always have with you during your winter travel.
Layer it up!
With experience, we say that carrying big, chunky sweaters to keep yourself warm during your winter travel is a bad idea. Not only do they take up loads of space, but they’re also only useful in very cold weather conditions. On the other hand, if you rely on layering for warmth, you have a more versatile wardrobe with pieces that can lend themselves to different weather conditions/occasions. Make sure you have a really warm, high-quality base layer of thermal underwear AKA long johns in your suitcase.
Warm accessories will save your life
Assuming you’re an adventurous go-getter, you’ll be spending a lot of time outside. Make sure that you’re well covered up during your outdoor jaunts by having a solid arsenal of warm, high-quality accessories. Think warm hats, earmuffs, mittens, gloves and SOCKS. I’m all for a good bargain, but don’t cheap out on these or else you’ll be freezing!
Keep moisturizing on the top of your to-do list
Cold = dryness = chapped everything! Moisturizer is a must.
Anyways, let’s get to the real packing goodness. Who likes chapped lips while travelling? Always make sure to keep a very hydrating kip balm and a moisturizer with you. It will help you bring the moisture back along with making you look amazing as ever. Especially in winters it’s very important to carry a lip balm that takes proper care of your dry and chapped lips and give them a healthy plump. Get one that’s a bit tinted for those effortless rosy lips.

Well, first things first, in order to have a safe and carefree journey, you should always carry a sanitary napkin or a tampon in your bag as you never know when those nasty periods knock on your V door and irritate the shit out of you. Even if you know your date, it’s always better to carry one. Who knows, some other chick might need it.
A good pair of body-hugging thermals
Thermals or body warmers are the greatest way to help you warm during winters. These thin layers of clothing help keep you cozy while saving you from bulky outerwear. When you are traveling, always invest in a lightweight and good quality thermal leggings and full sleeve tops so you have less carriage and more clothing options.
