Patna Sahib Lawmaker Shatrughan Sinha, who throughout the year’s assaulted his party- the BJP- and its central authorities, might be replaced by Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad as the party candidate from the constituency, sources state. Mr Shatrughan Sinha may contest the Lok Sabha elections as the stupendous alliance or autonomous candidate as he has said consistently that he would contest poll from Patna Sahib. Mr Shatrughan Sinha recently said, “As far as elections are concerned, Patna is my first, second and last choice.”
Mr Shatrughan Sinha has parried inquiries as to his future strategy, however, he has been meeting the Bihar grand alliance leaders. He as of late met RJD boss Lalu Yadav’s family. He went to Mamata Banerjee’s rally in January as a delegate of previous BJP pioneer Yashwant Sinha’s recently formed party.
Shatrughan Sinha, who won elections in 2014 on BJP’s ticket, hosted a drop out with the party authority when he was excluded in the cabinet. From that point orward, he has been making unfavorable remarks at the party and its administration, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Keeping with its seat-sharing equation in the state, the BJP has given 17 seats to the Janata Dal (United) – including its conventional voting public of Gaya, Siwan and Katihar – while keeping an equivalent number for itself. However, the BJP has refused to part with Darbhanga, which Chief Minister Nitish Kumar needed for his close associate, Sanjay Jha, sources said.
Prasad’s name was discussed in the BJP’s central election committee which was attended by party chief Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the sources said. Shatrughan Sinha has been critical of the party’s top leadership on several occasions in the past.
Deliberations continued till late in the night and the name of Rajya Sabha MP R K Sinha was also discussed for the Patna Sahib seat. The meeting was also attended by other senior leaders, Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Modi and party’s Bihar unit chief Nityanand Rai.
Recent tweet by Shatughan Sinha indicates that he might join Congress.
