Pakistan on Tuesday held a joint session of its parliament to discuss the Kashmir issue and its future course of action after Indian scrapped Article 370 and 35 (A). The scrapping of these articles removes Kashmir’s special status. The Indian government has also proposed to divide the state into two Union Territories, Ladakh, and Jammu.

National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser suspended the joint session after opposition lawmakers deranged the proceedings in the Parliament House. The agenda of the Pakistan Parliament for today was to discuss the repercussions of Article 370 and 35(A) of the Indian constitution.

As per the agenda issued on Monday by the Indian government, the Parliament House of Pakistan may discuss the “surge in an unprovoked firing and shelling on civilian population, use of cluster bombs” by Indian security forces in Pakistan during the recent surgical strike.

There is an anticipation that the latest joint sitting of the parliament would pass a resolution to denounce the Indian Government’s action as a conclusion. However, there is no conclusion made towards the end. This sitting might continue till tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.

Army Chief General, Qamar Javed, will organize a key meeting the seminal commanders later to discuss the security situation after the latest announcements for Kashmir and its special status.
