Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday declared that the government has removed the special status that was given to the state of Jammu and Kashmir by modifying Article 370 of the Constitution. Article 370 of the constitution is a ‘temporary provision’ granted special autonomous status to Jammu and Kashmir, which has now been removed.
The government on Monday also ordered the division of Jammu and Kashmir into two Union Territories. While the Union Territory of Ladakh will be without a legislature, the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir will be with a legislature.

Zaira Wasim, who recently made headlines for quitting Bollywood, tweeted, “This too shall pass!
