The government has ceased this year’s Amarnath Yatra after the reports by security forces that terrorists could target it which has a tendency to impact the peace of this divine place. The yatra has been halted which is two weeks ahead of its regular closure.
The pilgrimage yatra was earlier suspended till August 4 because of the weather. But, now there is a panic among the tourists and pilgrims. Currently, the primary concern is their (tourists’ and pilgrims’) stay, therefore, they have been asked to remove their shelters in Amarnath. In addition, it has escalated fear among the Indian citizens with this announcement.
Chinar Corps Commander Lt General KJS Dhillon today told reporters in Srinagar that an American M-24 sniper file and ammunition were detected around Baltal and Pahalgam’s pilgrimage routes.
He also added that after we found so much ammunition on the yatra route, no risk can be taken.
Jammu and Kashmir Director General Muneer Khan told Economic Times, “This is a security-related development and I don’t know anything else. We can’t stop panic reactions.”
The history showcases several successful attempts by the terrorists which has influenced the lives of a lot of people.
