The sacred leader of Tibetan Buddhism, Dalai Lama, spoke about aftermaths of his death. He said that once he breathes his last breath, his embodiment should be found in India as he has lived here for the last 60 years. He came to India in 1959 after a failed revolt against Chinese government. Since then, he is working towards cultural anatomy and global support in gigantic hilly & mountainous homeland. He has warned the entire world if China names any individual as the successor of Dalai Lama, that successor would not be respected.
This year marks the anniversary of Dalai Lama’s escape from the Tibetan Capital, impersonated as a soldier. The 14th Dalai Lama spoke to Reuters in the snow-capped mountains, Dharamshala, where Dalai Lama gets candid over his journey and his view on China.
China took control of Tibet in 1950. Dalai Lama has foreseen some attempts by Beijing where Chinese Rulers will thrust a successor on Tibetan Buddhists.
Dalai Lama wrapped in his red color robes and yellow color scarf said, “China considers Dalai Lama’s reincarnation as something very important. They have more concern about the next Dalai Lama than I have”
He guffawed and added, “if in future you see two Dalai Lama, one from the free country, India and one from the other country, China, then nobody will respect the other Dalai Lama from China. And, this will become a huge problem for the Chinese! Its possible, it can happen”.
Born in 1935, the current Lama was identified as the Lama’s successor when he was only two years old. As said earlier, he absconded from China when he was only 14 years old. Since then, he has made our land his homeland. During the interview, he also accepted the fact that many Tibetan Buddhists who live in China still idolize and honor the 14th Dalai Lama irrespective of the prohibitions on public display of devotion for Dalai Lama in China.
He told the media that there will be only one important responsibility for the 15th Dalai Lama which is, “no political responsibility”. Dalai Lama himself gave up on his political responsibilities in the year of 2001 to develop a transparent system for the Tibetans living in India.
During the interview, Dalai Lama also spoke about the subjects that he is fond of. He loves cosmology, quantum physics, neurobiology, and psychology like anything. He also spoke about his dreams to visit his homeland and delivering the lectures on these fields in Chinese universities.
