Monsoon is here and there is nothing more comforting than picking up a hot cup of coffee or tea and watching shows and movies all day. But with the many, many shown and streaming platforms, it is hard to decide what to watch. To ease up this pressure we have made a list of some shows that you can binge watch this season, and relax.

1. Stranger Things

Set in the ’80s, this show has everything to keep you addicted- drama, fantasy, thrill, and a whole other world, or well, an alternate dimension. Without spoiling anything, this show is set in the fictional and rural town of Hawkins and tells the story of a bunch of friends, a girl with super cool powers and how they are the heroes despite being kids. There is also a lot of supernatural things happening along the way, of course, Created by the Duffer Brothers, this Netflix original is nothing less than a rollercoaster, you will not be expecting what happens next. This show will keep you on the edge of your seats, but make you enjoy along the way, which makes Stranger things a perfect blend of sci-fi, horror, and fun. 

2. The Office (US)

The Office, as the name suggests is a sitcom about the daily lives of certain employees working in a fictional company called the Dundler Mifflin Paper Company. The amazing Steve Carrel, as Michael Scott, is the star of the show, although the rest of the cast is spectacular as well. This show is extremely famous, and if you still have not watched it, we think it is time. It is not only a sitcom, but somewhat of a mockumentary as well, making it seem like as much of a real documentary as possible, and you are going to love every second of it. And with each episode barely twenty to twenty-five minutes long, you will love binge watching it, and fall in love with the characters as fast as we did.

3. Rick and Morty

This one is a bit different from the rest of the shows in this list because it is animated, but that does not mean it is not equally better. Following the adventures of a good-hearted boy Morty Smith and his grandfather, who is nothing less than a cynically mad scientist, Rick Sanchez. They go on some amazing inter-dimensional adventures, whilst balancing their domestic lives. Now if you are wondering it is a kids’ show, trust us when we say this, it is nowhere close. A mad and alcoholic scientist, going on some futuristic adventures with his 14 years old grandson, is funnier than you can think and this is one of the most enjoyed shows by our generations. 

4. Brooklyn Nine-Nine

Brooklyn Nine Nine

A fun and light-hearted show, Brooklyn Nine-Nine follows the story of the ninety-ninth precinct of the New York City Police Department (NYPD) in Brooklyn, with some talented detectives, including Andy Samberg’s Jake Peralta, their commanding officer, sergeant and a sassy secretary, making them a highly spectacular team as well as a dysfunctional family. It revolves around the various cases as well as sometimes their personal lives, with each character having their unique quirks and talents. This is one of the most acclaimed shows currently, and we highly recommend you to watch it. Every episode is equally, if not funnier than the other, and may even leave you clutching your stomach and gasping for air at certain moments, with it being a new twist to the usual cop shows.

5. Black Mirror

If you are into dark themes shows that go for sensitive subjects that others are not brave enough to pick, you will love this show. This science fiction show mainly revolves around different characters and their personal lives, and how they get manipulated by the technology. It focuses on how the bad and unanticipated consequences come someone’s way, solely based on their decisions and new technology in the modern day. Be it a robotic nanny or a chip that can be used to monitor your children, and what not, this show has got it all. Moreover, each episode is sort of standalone and equally dark, thrilling and shocking twists. Definitely watch this if you are looking for something different and if you don’t easily get uncomfortable.
