Raksha means ‘to protect’ whereas, Bandhan implies ‘bond’.The occasion of Raksha Bandhan is the time when the sacred bond of a brother and a sister is celebrated by all family members.

It is celebrated on the full moon day of Shravan. Different corners of the country have different terminologies for this occasion. In central parts of the nation, this festival is known as Rakhi Purnima whereas, in northern parts it is known as Rakhri. Rakshabandhan is a festival that ushers heartfelt emotions and lots of sweets and gifts.  Heartfelt Emotions?? With my sibling??
