Rewind yourself to the time when communication was not as easy as just dropping a WhatsApp message to your friend. You literally had to go out to meet each of them.
Back in time, we were all busy playing games in the streets and coming back home all bruised and with did boast them later. Our communication wasn’t limited to the virtual world and we all actually made the effort to go out of our houses.
When it comes to the virtual world, all we had were cassette video games! Remember?
Here are 10 video games which will transport you back to the ’90s. The time we all fought with our moms, completed our homework and made sure we were allowed to go play them with friends:
The guys favorite, Road Rash is an old dos game with the main genre being racing. Rough music, leather clothing, plenty of booze and sexy girls – these are the main characteristics of bikers, or at least how most people portray them. We all loved playing this game. For girls, this games was all about pressing the space bar each time the opponent would try to overtake. You would attack him with kicks and punches trying to crash his bike.
Super Mario Bros
One of the most successful video games of all time. Super Mario Bros was the most loved games of everyone! We all loved how Mario, goes on an adventure to save the beautiful Princess Peach Toadstool from King Bowser Koopa and we all helped him meet his princes.
Contra, the cool action game of the ’90s. Remember controlling the two-armed soldiers: Bill “Mad Dog” Rizer and Lance “Scorpion” Bean, who come from the task force called Contra. These two were sent on a mission to stop a terrorist organization called “Red Falcon Organization”, that wants to dominate the earth and establish a dictatorship. In the beginning, we only had a basic rifle, but the good news is that you have unlimited ammo, so you can happily shoot after everything that moves. But you must be careful because any shot from the enemy will kill you instantly and you have to start from the beginning.
KO! Tekken 3 the fighting game, featuring a total of twenty-three characters. Tekken 3 has been cited as one of the greatest video games of all time.
Sonic the Hedgehog
Remember controlling the anthropomorphic blue hedgehog Sonic, who can run and jump at high speeds using springs, ramps, and loops. Our only mission was to stop Dr. Robotnik from taking over the world using the Chaos Emeralds.
GTA San Andreas
How we were addicted around the story of Carl Johnson, who escaped from the pressures of life in Los Santos, San Andreas… a city tearing itself apart with gang trouble, drugs, and corruption. Where filmstars and millionaires do their best to avoid the dealers and gangbangers.
Club Penguin the massive multiplayer online game involving a virtual world that contained a range of online games and activities. How we all miss the players using cartoon penguin-avatars and played in a winter-set virtual world.
The game features a system reminiscent of that of God of War and Devil May Cry, even having some of the same controls and style of attacks. The game was highly loved as it had combos done with bare hands and with the Demonic chain. The overall mood, setting, and visual style are very much the same as those in the first installment of Devil May Cry. When on the Hellcycle, Ghost Rider is still capable of performing some of the same chain attacks and can shoot hellfire.
Need For Speed: Most Wanted
We all loved how the police kept on chasing us. The free-roaming with CGI effects mixed with live-action, the game featured the Blacklist, a crew consisting of 15 racers that the player must beat one-by-one to unlock parts, cars, tracks, and to complete career mode. The player had to meet certain requirements before they could take on the next Blacklist rival, such as races completed, milestones achieved, and bounty earned. We all need some speed!
This game had no “ending”—after the first five levels have each been played to their limit, the player then repeats the trapeze stage until all their lives are exhausted.
Craving to play all these games again?
